Here's a really cool zapper that works on the arc lamp principal.
Rating: easy >:>:>:> low risk

2. snap lead in roughly 1cm pieces
This step requires no further information.

  1. matterials you will need:
YOU WILL NEED:
1 <> one 9v battery (preferably an older one as new ones impale quite a zap!)
2 <> one piece of 0.5mm pacer lead
3 <> some blu-tak or simmilar adhesive

3. Tack the pieces on (using blu-tak or simmilar) so that both piece touch the battery terminals, but not each other.
Make sure it resembles somewhat the picture on the right.

LASTLY: adjust the leads so that they are VERY close to one another but DO NOT TOUCH. Now, when touched against sothting they should spark a bit.

REMEMBER: ALWAYS test on table or a book etc. after instaling a new battery, & using it for the first time. IT SHOULD NOT SMOKE OR GOLW. IT SHOULD ONLY BE A SMALL SPARK.

This is the finished product. When touched it should spark

This it in action. Note the SMALLspark.
Please make sure you use this RESPONSIBLY, and don't force this against someone's will.
